XTRACT Gains Further Foothold in Sanitaryware

12 October 2012

XTRACT Filtration Systems, a member of the Mantec Group, has announced another major contract in the ceramic sanitaryware sector. Work is well advanced at XTRACT’s Stoke-on-Trent manufacturing facility on this contract – valued at over €500,000 – and commissioning is expected some time during the fourth quarter of 2012. This particular installation follows on from the provision of highly successful units already in operation across the world in this sector.

The customer in this case has been pursuing significant investments in process optimisation in its principal growth areas and, after thorough evaluation, decided to order an automated full glaze reclamation system from the technology leaders, XTRACT Filtration Systems.

“Our XTRACT glaze and slip reclaim technique relies on a highly sophisticated approach and naturally we are delighted that the very latest version has been adopted by yet another of the world’s leading sanitaryware groups,” commented Paul Hipkiss, Sales and Marketing Director. “Technical management in expensive and ultra-modern factories like the one where we are going to be completing this installation at the end of the year need to know that with this sort of investment they will benefit from a highly reliable recovery process – XTRACT delivers this.”

XTRACT filtration relies on a consistent ceramic separation technology – also developed and manufactured within Mantec Group – delivering a controlled density filtrate. It is based on chemically inert filtration media. This is a unique, fully integrated and automated system that can deliver up to 100% raw material recovery and re-use.

Apart from guaranteeing consistency on the quality front, the XTRACT concept is a major step forward in sustainable manufacturing. Because it offers the total recovery of valuable raw materials, payback times are also very short, making it an attractive and environmentally beneficial prospect.

XTRACT is easily retrofitted and discussions about its take-up in other ceramic sanitaryware facilities are currently well underway, reports the company. Another export order for this leading system is expected very shortly.
